Co-op student will be assigned to the Substation Department. Responsibilities include maintenance of analytical tasks related to the planning and operation of JCP&L's distribution, subtransmission and substation systems. Additional responsiblities will be related to system reliability and will include data entry and recording for yearly regulatory required inspection and maintenance programs, data entry of Substation equipment and maintenance records, and updating additional reliability-related databases. Opportunity will also exist to expose the co-op student to other areas within the Substation group, such as relay cable, and field work. College student enrolled in an Electrical Engineering curriculum. Successful completion of basic Electicial Engineering coursework is beneficial. Knowledge of or the ability to learn specific PC applications such as Lotus Notes and the Microsoft Office suite is necessary. Experience and proficiency in the use of AutoCAD or similar applications is beneficial. Demonstrated ability to perform work in an accurate, neat, and orderly fashion. Oral and written communications skills are necessary to effectively convey information. Mechanical drafting abilities are beneficial. Must be able to interact and cooperate with fellow employees in a tactful, courteous, and diplomatic manner. Minimum GPA 2.5 Must be currently enrolled in college.
