The work is performed under the supervision of a higher level engineering professional and work guidance may be provided to technical staff. Does related work as required. This particular position will report to Daniel Miller, within the Water Supply Bureau, and will include duties associated with permitting and oversight of well drilling operations as well as routine inspections of the public water supply systems that we regulate. The salary structure is as follows, based upon the 2006 contract: Start - $52,570.80 Year 2 - $54,891.20 Year 3 - $57,785.50 Year 4 - $60,460.40 Year 5 - $63,390.60 Year 10 - $66539.20 Year 15 - $69669.60 Year 20 - $73091.20 Year 25 - $76767.60 This does not account for annual cost of living raises, nor for potential advancement to higher-level positions that are included in the engineering career path. Minimum Qualifications are as follows: 1. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and either one year of professional-level experience in public health engineering, environmental health or related (e.g., public health hazardous waste program, public health hazardous materials management and/or response, air or water pollution control); OR 2. The satisfactory completion of one (1) year as an Assistant Public Health Engineer Trainee. Notes: 1. The Bachelor's Degree is required, however we can wait for this year's graduation for the successful candidate to qualify. 2. A candidate may be hired as a Trainee if they have the Bachelor's Degree but do not have the requisite year of experience, essentially allowing them to acquire the experience on-the-job (with approximately 5% lower salary). 3. A Master's or Doctorate degree in Engineering or Environmental Science may be substituted for the one year of required experience. 4.
